About Me

charlotte with her neurodivergent children

I’m Charlotte, a specialist teacher, former school leader, neurodivergence expert and mum to neurodivergent children. I care deeply about getting education right for our children.

I began my career as a corporate lawyer before moving into education, where I have worked for over 15 years in both state and independent schools. My roles have ranged from classroom teacher to senior leadership, supporting children with a wide range of learning needs.

I am also a parent to wonderful neurodivergent children. That experience, alongside my professional background, shapes the work I do today.

I now support children, young people and families to better understand how their brains work, recognise their strengths and find a path that allows them to thrive. I work closely with families and schools to help ensure each child receives the understanding and support they need.

Reclaiming the Narrative and Thriving with SEND

If we, as parents and educators, are able to better understand and meet the needs of neurodivergent children, we're taking that first step to shift the narrative from what's 'wrong' to what's possible.

The book explores how to make this shift, drawing on guidance from the DfE, insights from the ongoing Curriculum and Assessment Review, and research from the WEF and BPS. It also references influential thinkers such as Dr Gabor Maté, Sir Ken Robinson and Dr Becky Kennedy, and highlights how alternative models, including Global Academy, apprenticeships and alternative provision, offer powerful sources of inspiration.

Knowing what can be done and how to meet the needs of our children is key - once we know better, we can do better.

Take a look and become better informed about meeting neurodivergent children's needs.

Smiling Woman

Julia C, Home Educator

This is the best thing I’ve read about neurodiversity.

It answers questions I didn’t even realise I had, and makes everything feel straightforward and logical. I feel more empowered, clearer in my thinking, and better equipped.

Smiling Woman

A comprehensive and insightful guide for parents, carers and educators. Charlotte shines a light on the challenges within the current education system while offering a more inclusive and hopeful way forward. This is a rare gift, one that will benefit us all.”

I loved this book. It’s relatable, clarifying and encouraging. It met me exactly where I am as a parent and helped me rethink behaviour with more understanding. I now feel empowered to help my teen thrive by helping her feel safe, understood and supported
